McGuire, a division of Systems Inc. Company Profile

Automatic positioning vehicle restraint.

Automatic positioning vehicle restraint.

The TPR truck positioned vehicle restraint by McGuire automatically positions itself to secure a trailer’s rear impact guard (RIG), reducing the likelihood of premature trailer pull out.

The system incorporates an advanced, three-light LED communication system housed in a NEMA 12 control panel for messaging between the truck driver and dock attendant. Supplied with internal and external signage, the unit’s gear motor keeps the hook continuously engaged with a restraining force in excess of 30,000 pounds.

Other features include a low profile, 9-inch carriage that travels to 27 inches off grade, and a standard keyed bypass/override switch.

Company Description:

An upgrade to the standard TPR Series, the UniLock has an added internal safety mechanism, as well as advanced cam design that rotates the hook away from the trailer’s Rear Impact Guard (RIG) to release “RIG Wedge” pressure.

Features

  • Automatically releases RIG Wedge pressure without the trailer reversing.
  • Locking mechanism to prevent the restraint from disengaging the trailer’s RIG when pressure is applied.
  • Universally effective on an obstructed Rear Impact Guard, including intermodal trailers with cover plates.
  • LED 3-light system for advanced communication between the truck driver and dock attendant.
