Dorner Company Profile

Universal drive simplifies motor and mounting options

The supplier’s new Universal Drive for its 2200 Series of low-profile end drive belt conveyors features a single part number that covers all speed, load and mounting positions. Developed by Electric Torque Machines, the mount package integrates universally across the end drive conveyor line. This reduces stocked service items into one manageable part number. Additionally, the unit accommodates 21 different top, bottom and side mounting positions, including the motor facing either inboard or outboard. It runs with high torque at low speeds, eliminating the need for a gearbox, and is smaller, lighter, quieter and cooler running than a conventional motor gearbox combination. The system also reduces downtime with fast assembly setup with three-bolt mounting and simple timing belt tensioning. Dorner Manufacturing, 800-397-8664, dornerconveyors.com.
