Caljan Company Profile

Caljan Print & Apply with Flying Applicator registers the size of each item and its position on the belt as goods flow along the conveyor.

Caljan Print & Apply with Flying Applicator registers the size of each item and its position on the belt as goods flow along the conveyor.

The Print & Apply system automatically selects the most cost-effective Carrier. The carrier-specific label is printed and applied at precise, individual X, Y, Z coordinates. This may be over an existing label so multiple bar codes don’t result in invalid or incorrect data during subsequent scans or in a vacant spot.

No need to align items on the belt, Flying Applicator tracks the package, turning automatically to the appropriate angle, so the label can be placed correctly. The label can be turned to face the picker, making the pick process more efficient. High readability means that data is accurately stored too.

Regardless of the height of the item, Flying Applicator touches down on the surface of the package or bag applying the label firmly, even when the item is soft.

Caljan Print & Apply with Flying Applicator registers the size of each item and its position on the belt as goods flow along the conveyor. The sweet spot for the label is calculated. This may be in a clear area or positioned so that the new label conceals existing labels. The SKU, or ID label, is printed and the Flying Applicator follows the item on the belt, touching down to firmly apply the label in exactly the right spot. The label can be turned to face the picker, making the pick process more efficient. High readability means that data is accurately stored too. Actually touching the surface during application means the label adheres firmly, even on soft polybags.

Caljan Print & Apply with Flying Applicator is typically used when thru-put is in excess of 1,500 items per hour. E-mail shippers can increase their throughput by deploying Caljan Print & Apply with Flying
Applicator as an integral part of their dispatch process Accurately labeling up to 2,400 items an hour, this high-performance automatic labeler scans the barcode on the item, prints the appropriate, carrier-specific, shipping label and applies to the perfect spot. This may be over an existing label so multiple bar codes don’t result in invalid or incorrect data during subsequent scans or in a vacant spot.

The item is then weighed to validate that the content is correct. A subsequent scan validates that the label is a perfect match to the item.

At high belt speeds, having to align items on the belt can be costly, as it slows down the whole process. Caljan Print & Apply with Flying Applicator incorporates the position and orientation of each item when calculating the perfect spot for the label.
