Crown Equipment Company Profile

Highly efficient modular battery chargers.

Highly efficient modular battery chargers.

Offering efficiency levels of up to 97%, on average, the V-HFM3 series of modular battery chargers are more efficient than a majority of the other high frequency chargers on the market.

The chargers were developed to enable facility and maintenance managers to decrease energy costs, while increasing forklift batteries’ lifespans, and the battery chargers support a variety of charging approaches, including conventional, fast, lithium-ion and opportunity.

They are available in three models: FS3, FS4 and FS6. A 37-pound, three-phase charger, the FS3 provides a charge current of up to 300 amps. The FS4, a 72-pound, three-phase charger, offers a charge current of up to 400 amps. And the FS6—another 72-pound, three-phase charger—has a charge current as high as 600 amps.

Unparalleled Efficiency

With efficiency levels up to 97 percent, the V-HFM3 is more efficient than other high frequency chargers on the market. More power has been packed into a smaller, stackable footprint that saves space and energy.

An Intelligent Charging Assistant

Smart sensors and intelligent displays, including automatic voltage sensing and color LED indicator lights, make charging easy, safe and reliable. Automatically apply the correct charging profile upon connection without the use of a monitoring device.

Flexibility for the Future

Charge virtually any lift truck battery in your operation while supporting both lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries as well as future technology changes. This is a charger that evolves with your changing business needs.

Connected Capabilities

Configure, monitor and manage remotely. Integrate with other systems - such as Crown’s V-Force Battery Monitoring Identification Device (BMID) - for additional levels of reporting and control.

Available V-HFM3 Charger Models

Key Options and Accessories

  • Battery Monitoring Identification Device (BMID)

The optional BMID module is designed to mount on top of the battery. The device monitors battery health and controls charging. It detects low electrolyte level and clearly communicates the need to water to the operator. The BMID monitors voltage and temperature, then adjusts charge rate for optimum performance.

  • Mounting Hardware

    1. The Wall Mount Shelf Bracket provides a convenient mounting solution for FS5 or FS9 size charger cabinets while supporting up to 125 lbs.
    2. The Mounting Bracket offers the ideal mounting solution for FS3 size charger cabinets, supporting up to 50 lbs while allowing the charger to be mounted from the rear, side or bottom of charger.
    3. The L-Bracket is used in conjunction with pogo sticks to secure cables off the floor and within easy reach.
  • Charger Stand

Versatile design provides multiple configuration options by anchoring to the floor to hold chargers and battery cables safely in place. Enables placement of multiple chargers at optimal working height for easy access while freeing up warehouse floor space. Includes all mounting hardware and pogo sticks for securing cables.

  • Remote Switch

The remote switch provides easy access to charger functions when the charger must be mounted in a hard-to-reach location.

  • Pogo Stick

Pogo sticks are used in conjunction with charging stands to securely store battery cables away from the floor. Provides operators with easy access at an optimal work height while preventing wear and tear on cables and connectors.

  • Tower Light Kit

LED light indicates battery charger status from a distance. Includes 18.81 inch pole with mounting bracket, I/O expansion board with internal wiring loom, expansion board mounting standoff and DE9 mounting standoffs.
