AGV and cart system navigates narrow aisles, tight turns

Built to negotiate narrow aisles with tight turns, the Tite-Space BST automatic guided vehicle tunnels below a cart to automatically pick it up and deliver it to its next station. Powered by two 12-volt batteries, the AGV includes a 24-volt DC drive motor and guidance sensors. It can tow up to 1,320 pounds and travels along an easy-to-install magnetic tape guidepath. The cart features a special hitch plate that interfaces specifically with the AGV units, and two levels with gravity flow roller conveyors (one level flows down for supply, the other returns for replenishment). Constructed with 1.65-inch pipe and joint components, the cart is outfitted with a package tray at the top to hold miscellaneous parts and supplies. To enable a second cart to be towed if needed, each cart includes a rear-mounted towing hitch. Creform, 800- 839-8823, creform.com.

The Tite-Space BST AGV with kitting cart, Model CA-250060-NSI-K9, operates as an automated tugger and can increase process and production efficiency.

The AGV can travel along a magnetic tape guidepath, slip under a stationary cart, extend a tow pin into the cart’s frame and then convey it to a specified workstation or unload point, resulting in high throughput.

Featuring a programmable control system, the AGV can also control 50 courses—with more than 128 commands for each course. To offer users the opportunity to improve their efficiency, the AGV is powered by a 24-volt system, which uses two 12-volt AGM batteries.
