Mobile Cubing and Weighing Applications

Mobile Cubing and Weighing Applications

Using a combination of sensing technologies, the small CubiScan 125 static cubing system from Quantronix weighs and measures irregularly shaped parts and components, as well as boxed and case-pack items.

Small parts and non-cuboidal items are precisely measured using infrared sensing technology, while larger boxes and cases are measured with ultrasonic sensors.

The unit automates the collection of dimensional data for slotting, storage-space selection, carton selection, repacking, check-weighing and shipment manifesting with an integrated control panel/display that outputs to a user-supplied PC. For menu-driven operator control, data storage/transfer and diagnostics, Qbit interface software is included.

Company Description:

Designed to measure and weigh small parts, apparel, boxed and unboxed items. The Cubiscan 125 combines elegant design and functionality with accuracy and precision to produce a system uniquely built for space management optimization.

Parcel Types: Irregular, unboxed, cuboidal and boxed items
Applications: Shipping, logistics and space management

The Cubiscan 125 is a small stationary or portable cubing system that uses a combination of infrared and ultrasonic sensing technologies to measure and weigh parts, SKUs, and boxed items. Infrared sensing technology is used to create the precision and detail required to measure small parts and unboxed items, while ultrasonic technology is used to gather dimensional data on large, boxed items.

The Cubiscan 125 is commonly used to improve storage-space planning, carton size selection, repacking, check-weighing, and shipment manifesting in medical, pharmaceutical, apparel, hardware, and consumer goods distribution.

A mobile cart and useful accessories such as a portable power supply, handheld barcode scanner, and label printers are available to create a completely mobile cubing, weighing, and identification workstation. A simple, intuitive design makes the Cubiscan 125 easy to use and operate.  One-touch dimensioning for boxes and a gate-swinging feature for unique shapes makes dimensioning SKUs simple and efficient.
