As the first public-facing port from AutoStore, it allows consumers to shop online and then pick up their orders directly from the AutoStore System at retail locations. This provides customers with a simple grab-and-go option, enabling retailers to offer a frictionless omnichannel shopping experience for consumers – which could lead to additional in-store purchases.
PickUpPort includes top-of-the-line safety and security features. Each Port is equipped with a warning label, safety bar, a damper, and stoppers to assure accident-free operations. It additionally has an intuitive LED indicator to guide customers in retrieving their orders. The Port remains locked until the designated purchaser’s arrival, ensuring secure and accurate delivery.
As an alternative to typical, fossil fuel-powered last-mile delivery options, the PickUpPort is the first of its kind with technology seamlessly connecting robots to people for a simple, fast, and more sustainable product delivery experience. With a power consumption level of 20 watts, the port is energy-efficient, requiring less energy than the average vacuum cleaner.
