Integrating an electric motor, a new industrial caster by Caster Cocepts is offered as a motorized retrofit to existing carts.
The caster can be equipped with either a 0.25- or 0.5- horsepower motor and is capable of moving loads up to 6,000 pounds at speeds of 5 miles per hour. Adding a second caster doubles the load capacity that can be moved and enables tank-style steering (where each caster pushes in opposite directions to turn).
Ergonomic, the motorized caster eliminates the need for manual pushing or pulling, turning on with the flip of a switch.
