Yale Lift Truck Technologies Company Profile

Yale’s innovative Dynamic Stability System (DSS) technology can help address safety challenges in the warehouse without sacrificing productivity.

Yale’s innovative Dynamic Stability System (DSS) technology can help address safety challenges in the warehouse without sacrificing productivity.

Visual and audible alerts provide real-time reinforcement of lift truck operating best practices, while corner control and high-lift traction and tilt controls can help prevent operators from surpassing established stability threshold limits. The solution further supports productivity and high uptime because the technology is maintenance-free, meaning no scheduled maintenance intervals for the system.

  • The Yale® Dynamic Stability System (DSS) sends audible and visual alerts to the lift truck operator to help promote safe operating practices. To do so, the solution’s Vehicle System Manager (VSM) continuously receives inputs from five maintenance-free sensors: lift height, hydraulic load, mast tilt, truck speed and steer angle.
  • Lift truck functionality is controlled when the operator pushes the truck beyond established stability threshold limits. When equipped with Yale Vision telemetry monitoring, data can be recorded each time a function activates. Not only does is the data recorded, but real-time updates are also sent to the designated supervisor to support more informed training and labor management decisions.
  • Four sub-systems are engaged to control lift truck performance in certain conditions to help minimize forward and sideways tip-overs.

The Dynamic Stability System (DSS) is a maintenance-free system that sends audible and visual alerts to lift truck operators to help promote safe operating practices. This innovative technology — made up of four sub-systems — limits truck performance in certain conditions to help minimize forward and sideways tip-overs.

  • Lateral stability system – Reduces truck leans in turns, helping to improve lateral stability.
  • High-lift traction control - Limits truck speed when handling an elevated load if the carriage is raised above the height threshold.
  • High-lift tilt control – Limits tilt speed and forward tilt range when the carriage is raised above the height threshold while carrying a load.
  • Corner control - Produces a smooth deceleration by dynamically limiting truck speed around corners based on how tightly the truck is turning.
