Friction is a critical factor, with regards to the proper flow and handling of containers, particularly for manufacturers that run manufacturing lines, including dry running lines.
With this in mind, manufacturers can use a System Plast iCOF condition monitoring device to properly monitor a manufacturing line’s condition (or at least part of it), by measuring the coefficient of friction (COF) of a belt or a chain as they’re running.
It then returns the average value, as well as the trend, of the COF, so that line efficiency is maintained and an optimum cleaning routine will continue.
Often mounted on a conveyor, the iCOF condition monitoring device can be integrated in a line control system. Compatible with Profinet protocol and Ethernet, the waterproof, high strength steel device can also fit with standard 3.3-inch pitch conveyors.
