Cart-based AS/RS The PowerStor cart-based automated storage and retrieval system is ideal for deep storage of palletized loads. The system provides high throughput of large quantities of multiple size loads in small or odd-shaped facilities. For storage, pallet arrives on a conveyor at the vertical lift pick-up position. Under the direction of performance and monitoring software, the lift is directed to pick the pallet off the conveyor and transfer it to the correct level of storage. There, it places the pallet on a pick-up and deposit station. An aisle/row cart pair retrieves the pallet and transports it to the correct row or rack for storage. For retrieval, the aisle/row cart travels until it is underneath the pallet being retrieved, then lifts the pallet off the rails and returns to the pick-up station.
