Working together, the transfer car moves received loads to the pivoting conveyor. Once positioned, the material rotates 90 degrees to maintain proper orientation and is then moved forward. Transfer cars can either be confined to a track with definitive end stops to locate position, or can be outfitted with swivel and rigid casters for a free moving method of transporting unit loads.
