Daifuku: New training program for SmartCart automatic guided cart systems

Training program teaches users how to modify AGC

A new training program—consisting of three courses—teaches technicians, maintenance workers and engineers how to maintain and modify their SmartCart automatic guided cart systems without outside assistance, which can reduce maintenance costs. Courses run two to three days and include hands-on training. Topics cover basic SmartCart operation and management; in-depth programming of commands; and system automation manager controls. Flexible and cost-effective, the AGCs navigate using magnetic tape for quick installation and easy guide path modification. The units are ideal for moving products on an assembly line or transporting goods throughout a plant or warehouse. They can be customized with a load-handling carrier or a scissor lift, or can form a continuous moving line of multiple vehicles that remain synchronized at a close distance, while traveling at a slow speed. When configured as tuggers, the AGCs can tow loads from 60 to 6,000 pounds. Jervis B. Webb Co., a subsidiary of Daifuku North America Holding Company, 248-553-1000, daifukuna.com
