Using a FH-B50066 bolt-on automatic guided vehicle drive unit that’s bi-directional, a custom AGV system features 11 AGVs that act as transfer vehicles between conveyors at various manufacturing points.
Offering a conveyor deck for automatic load transfers from both of its sides of full and empty pallets between various stations, the AGV system is 68 inches long x 63 inches wide, and has a conveyor height of 33 inches.
Able to travel at speeds of up to 164 feet per minute along a roughly 750-foot-long magnetic tape guide, the system also has floor-positioned RFID tags, which are used to control speed and obstacle sensor views. And, due to its bi-directional feature, which saves floor space, the AGV system is can travel back and forth on a single line path, rather than a loop.
