Bi-directional AGV carts tote automotive components For safely moving unpackaged automotive parts and components from one department to another, a series of automatic guided vehicle carts cover a distance of 950 feet. The vehicles feature split drive, bi-directional, bolt-on drive units with each end independently following a magnetic tape guidepath to ensure accurate and repeatable tracking in space restricted areas. The drives are powered by two 12-volt batteries and respond to floor-positioned RFID tags for speed control and obstacle sensor views. For rigidity and strength, the heavy-duty cart bases are fabricated steel, while the upper structures are built using the supplier’s aluminum pipe and metal joint system for adjustability and reconfiguration as needed.
