Hyster Company Profile

Electric truck offered as replacement for internal combustion models.

Electric truck offered as replacement for internal combustion models The J80-100XN electric lift truck series—offered in 8,000-; 9,000- and 10,000-pound capacity models—is offered as an environmentally friendly alternative for applications traditionally using vehicles powered by internal combustion engines. Equipped with an extended shift feature that balances battery and shift life, the truck delivers enhanced run times without recharging over long periods of time, reducing downtime and increasing efficiency. The trucks use an advanced thermal management system to continuously monitor critical truck functions while protecting the components by automatically adjusting truck performance modes. The system also reduces brake degeneration through auto deceleration when the accelerator is released. In addition, wet disc brakes are used as opposed to drum brakes, delivering a long life and better stopping power while virtually eliminating brake maintenance and adjustments. The J80-100XN electric lift truck series by Hyster—offered in 8,000-; 9,000- and 10,000-pound capacity models—is offered as an environmentally friendly alternative for applications traditionally using vehicles powered by internal combustion engines.

Features Include:

  • Wet disc brakes are employed in conjunction with the power assist braking system to reduce brake effort, extend brake life, provide increased stopping power and eliminate brake squeal sometimes associated with drum brakes.
  • The platform utilizes AC motors and transistor controller technology for both the traction and hydraulic systems, reducing the frequency and cost of maintenance.
  • The “zero turn” radius steer axle and dual AC drive motors combine to provide extraordinary maneuverability. The Hyster designed thermal management system maximizes performance during continuous operation, while preventing damage to components due to heat.
  • The standard extended shift feature provides an excellent balance between battery runtime and truck productivity. Operator selectable performance modes further increase efficiency in multi-task operations.
