Three models of BD (brute disk) caliper brakes from Nexen Group are air actuated, spring actuated/air released, and spring actuated/hydraulically released and use arms to provide a mechanical advantage for higher clamping force. Installing additional caliper brakes on each disc further increases their stopping power.
The brakes offer torque ranges from 8,000 to 23,000 inch-pounds and come in diameters from 12 to 24 inches.
Other features include actuators mounted on either side of the brake, connections that rotate 360 degrees around the actuator axis, and lifetime lubricated bearings on all pivot points. For quick replacement, brake shoes are mounted with detent pins.

Caliper spacing fits 0.500 inch wide discs. SPC shoes fit on BD Model Caliper Brakes for longer life and higher peak input rate. All pivot points have life lubricated bearings. Disc Speeds up to 3200 rpm with 14 inch discs. QD Bushing compatible, for shaft sizes to 3.875 inch.
