Raymond Corporation: Easily maneuver pallet truck with optional power steering

Raymond’s new PowerSteer option is offered for the supplier’s 8000 series rider pallet trucks to reduce the effort required to maneuver a pallet truck for increased operator comfort and productivity over the course of a shift.

The feature may be specified for the 8400 end rider, 8500 center rider and 8600 tugger trucks used in dock, horizontal transport and low-level order-picking applications. To provide consistent, responsive steering, the PowerSteer device interfaces with the vehicle’s AC-powered motor and controls to automatically decrease the power steering assistance level as the pallet truck speed increases.

And, the center rider and tugger trucks equipped with the option automatically slow down when turning corners. This gives operators greater control and confidence as the pallet truck travels at higher speeds. Other features include an adjustable-height handle to accommodate multiple operator heights and preferred operating positions.
