BEUMER Group Company Profile

Belt tray sorter supports manual, automated induction modules

Belt tray sorter supports manual, automated induction modules The BS 7 BT belt tray sorter can be equipped with various modules and functions, including a manual loading station and semi-automatic induction with camera system. Capable of separating items as close as 15.75 inches apart, the sorter reaches maximum sorting speeds of 8.5 feet per second to handle up to 22,500 items per hour. When outfitted with a manual loading station, the operator can assess product integrity prior to placing goods onto a sorter tray, removing damaged items as needed. Adding a semi-automatic induction function allows an operator to place goods manually but work independently of the sorting speed because products reach the sorter through the induction unit. With this dynamic module, the system automatically measures the items and determines their position, forwarding information to the controller so products are placed optimally to prevent overlaps. Adding a camera to read bar codes on inducted products further boosts accuracy. Beumer Group, 732-893-2800, http://www.beumergroup.com.
