PLC-based printer applicator sends status texts to operators, supervisors

PLC-based printer applicator sends status texts to operators, supervisors The 6950 programmable logic controller-based label printer-applicator has been configured to send text messages to operators’ and supervisors’ when labels are low or if the printer needs attention. The machine offers an Allen-Bradley PLC control system, modular print engine and 4.3-inch diagonal full color user interface. Other communication modes use an addressable Ethernet input/output (I/O) to seamlessly integrate into the warehouse control system. The WCS can pull information directly from unit’s controller through the Ethernet network for remote monitoring and data collection; alternately, the device can transmit data through a Web port and generate operating reports through web-based software. For texting, the machine uses a cellular network to text operational conditions to up to five cell phones. FOX IV Technologies, 877-436-2434, http://www.foxiv.com.
