A 3D smart sensor camera has been incorporated into the supplier’s latest release of the V-PAS Vision Pack and Audit System. Prior to the pack, void and seal process, the unit adds the ability to examine the internal content of a carton in-motion to automated conveyor systems. The 3D smart sensor imaging technology adds carton depth perception, allowing the device to inspect internal contents and determine the actual fill rate occurring during the picking process. Errors over or under a pre-determined optimal packing level are routed to the inspection re-pack lane, preventing higher shipping costs and lowering void usage.
