Baldor Electric Company Profile

DC motor produces full power over extended speed ranges

A new platform of 125- to 1,200-horsepower DC motors features a power-dense, low-profile package with enhanced DC motor technology for performance and reliability. The RPM PD series is offered as an alternative to motor rewinds or AC conversions with an optimized armature to produce full power over extended speed ranges with smooth torque transitions and minimal cogging, even while operating at very low speeds. Highlights include longer length standard brushes and a mechanical monitoring system for increased run time between scheduled maintenance shutdowns. To simplify the change out process, standard brushes are placed in a rotatable brush gearing system with a snap point alignment pin, allowing the brush gear system to be rotated when removing or adding brushes.
