Custom bar code labels for extreme environments

Custom bar code labels for extreme environments, challenging applications

A range of custom bar code labels can be engineered to work in extreme harsh, hot or cold environments and challenging applications including unusual surfaces (rough, small or fragile).

Among recent solutions are: removable bar code labels on newsprint; labels that stick to the rough edges of plywood in hot temperatures; RFID labels that monitor salmon and sturgeon populations; and tiny 2D labels that track law enforcement keys and firearms.

To determine the correct label material and adhesive, reviewed parameters include size, color, graphics, type of bar code and scanner/reader and environment.
