The Yard Ramp is designed for electric pallet jacks from ground level to tractor trailer bed height in the yard when no loading dock is available.
Weight capacity of the standard model is 16,000 lbs. Models include overall deck width of 84” and a usable width of 78”. The overall 48’ length is made of a 44’ incline with a 4’ level off.
The 8” high safety curbs are part of the main structure beam. Unit is supplied with a set of adjustable self- supporting legs in the front with a service range from 42” to 56” with a slope of 9.13% at 5.22 degree which is based on a 48” height service range adjustment.
The adjustable leg set includes a two speed hand crank. High gear is engaged when the shaft is pushed in, low gear is engaged when the shaft is pulled out. To raise the ramp pull the pin out and turn clockwise, to lower the ramp pull the pin out and turn counter clockwise.
A steel Edge of Dock Leveler with a capacity of 20,000 lbs. is securely welded on the end of the steel ramp. The unit has an overall width of 88” and a usable width of 66”. The span is 27-3/4” made of a 15” lip length.
Edge of Dock service vertical range is 6” with 3” up and 3” down. The edge of dock manual flip lip floats with the tractor trailer bed during the loading and unloading process. Unit is manually operated by the dock personnel after truck backs up to the ramp.
The safety handrail system is 36’ long for the ramp and level off section. The 42” high with mid rail meets the OSHA standard. The hand rail covers approximately 384” on the incline section and 48” on the level off section.
The steel safety hand rails are standard on both sides of the ramp, to be securely mounted to the top of the 8” safety curbs after delivery by others. The ramp is shipped on its side with special unloading instructions.
The pallet jack yard ramp has a special deck grip coating surface that resists most acids, alkalis, solvents, grease, oil, salt water, detergents, alcohol, gasoline, jet fuel and hydraulic fluids. Deck contains no solvents, allowing its use for odor sensitive applications with food processing facilities and hospitals. Designed for indoor and outdoor use.
The special coating can handle operating temperatures from below freezing to peaks at 150F; general outdoor environmental exposure will not adversely affect the coating. This product does not have any anti-freeze or non-stick properties. It can handle exposure to sodium chloride both solid and in solution; depending on the color of the special coating and the salt being used, the salt can leave visible residue behind on the coating.
To remove, the coating can be power washed with warm water or scrubbed using a stiff bristle broom or brush using water or a water/surfactant solution. Note: product is too aggressive to be cleaned using a mop. The coating is also designed for even heavier traffic loads including forklifts. NOTE: COEFFICIENT OF FRICTION ASTM F609 Dry -1.10 / Wet -1.00.
The life cycle of the product is determined by many factors i.e. frequency and type of traffic, frequency of exposure to extreme weather conditions, application technique, surface preparation, whether a primer is used or not, exposure to abrasive or impact forces, expansion and contraction of substrate, etc. For what we know about this application, a 2-4 year service life is a conservative estimate.
Coating should be inspected during regular audits or safety inspections, or at least once a year. Smoothing, loss of profile, chipping and cracking can occur over time, loss of color retention is not an indicator of degradation. New applications are dependent on the factors listed above.
Generally, there will be areas that see more traffic than others and could need to be replaced. For these areas, the affected area should be completely removed down to bare substrate, substrate should be re-prepped and coated.
