Omron Scientific Technologies Company Profile

To avoid collisions in AGV applications, Omron’s OS32C type 3 safety laser scanner is compact, with a 4-inch profile and weighing 2.9 pounds, the device is easy to handle and install. It draws 5 watts of power (3.75 watts in standby mode) for minimal battery load.

The device remembers up to 70 zone set combinations to support complex AGV paths in diverse layouts. Each zone set combination provides two warning zones of up to 32.8 feet that can be set to either make a warning sound or reduce AGV speed, and one safety zone of up to 10 feet that, if breached, will result in an emergency stop. A single unit provides 270-degree monitoring, or two units can be installed for front/rear monitoring or 360-degree monitoring. Integrated Ethernet-based management allows continuous monitoring of operating state for analysis of the cause of an emergency stop with a LAN.
